What is cellophane?

Introduction of Cellophane Film

    Cellophane also known as "regenerated cellulose film", is a cellulose film made from natural cellulose such as wood pulp, cotton pulp through chemical processes such as alkalization, yellowing and molding. Cellophane is 100% truely compsotable and biodegradable material. Cellophane is flexible and also transparent, just like glass. That's why people call it "cellophane". 

   Regenerated cellulose film has excellent natural advantages as a packaging material, with the main characteristics as follows.

   ① Cellulose film can be rapidly degraded by microorganisms in soil, without causing secondary pollution to the environment, and has excellent environmental performance.

   ② Cellulose film has excellent tensile strength and elasticity, does not generate static electricity, does not self absorb dust, and excellent printing and composite performance.

   ③ Cellulose film is of high temperature resistance, not deformed at a high temperature of 190 ℃, can be disinfected together with food in food packaging.

    ④ After coating and processing, cellulose film can have characteristics such as moisture resistance, oil resistance, impermeability, non breathability, and heat sealing. Cellulose film has strong barrier properties against oily, alkaline, and organic solvents, providing good protection for items.             

    ⑤Non toxic and odorless, with high transparency and strong glossiness, cellophane film can be given various colors.

   ⑥ Cellulose film has advantages that ordinary plastic film cannot replace, such as no static electricity, dust prevention, good twisting performance, and green environmental protection.

Application

 As lining paper and decorative packaging paper, regenerated cellulose film is widely used in the packaging fields of food, cosmetics, medicine, tobacco, high-grade ready-made clothing, precision instruments, batteries, fishing rods, fireworks and more.  Cellophane film belongs to low-carbon and eco-friendly packaging materials.
